Working Group on Women, Peace & Security
Founded by KOFF, the Working Group “Women Peace Security – reloaded” is a dialogue platform and a think tank gathering Swiss NGOs (cfd, PeaceWomen Across the Globe, Women for Peace Switzerland, Frauenstimmen gegen Krieg) working in the field of Women, Peace and Security. Depending on the topic, additional KOFF members as well as external experts also take part in the discussions.
The group critically reviews the gender-specific impacts of peacebuilding policy, gender mainstreaming initiatives as well as gender-specific policies and tools implemented within the framework of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 (UNSCR 1325). It also examines the relevance of an intersectorial methodology beyond the boundaries between peacebuilding, human rights, humanitarian aid and development cooperation from a gender perspective.
The Working Group coordinates the civil society report of the Swiss National Action Plan for the implementation of UNSCR 1325 with recommendations for civil society, NGOs, parliamentarians and the Swiss administration. This report aims to stimulate further discussion on security and contribute to a gender-responsive Swiss security policy.
