Mission 21 is pleased to invite you to our second International Forum for interfaith and transcultural peacebuilding on September 19 and 20, 2024! The theme of the two-day online conference is “DARING RECONCILIATION?!?!” Is reconciliation even possible in polarised conflict situations as we find them in many countries? What do psychological and philosophical concepts, experiences from peace processes and from religious traditions and spiritual practices teach us?

Our attractive program includes keynote speeches by experts from inter-faith and transcultural peace initiatives in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Workshops will give plenty of opportunity to exchange ideas on peacebuilding and reconciliation with experts and interested participants – last year’s International Forum welcomed more than 100 people from all over the world!

The event is open to the public, free of charge and takes place in English and Spanish.

Helvetas Symposium 2024 “Driving Development Cooperation in a Changing World

05 November 2024, 2.00-5.30pm, followed by a network happy hour, Eventfabrik Bern

Predictions about the world’s future are increasingly pessimistic. Polarization on geopolitical and national levels is increasing. It is proving challenging to find common will and commitment to tackle global issues — whether they be climate change, regional conflicts, poverty, advances in Artificial Intelligence, or other matters threatening humanity.

Global politics are fundamentally changing, and this requires a systemic rethinking of development cooperation.

The Helvetas Symposium 2024 will discuss current challenges and address questions such as: What should be the priorities for international cooperation in the coming 10 years? What should be the role of different actors, given the changing global context? What is the future of Swiss development cooperation?
