Ambassador Chuard joined DCAF on 1 March. \u201cI\u2019m thrilled to be taking the lead of an organization with the vision of a world in which security is provided by actors that are dedicated to improving the safety of people and states and act according to the principles of good governance, and respect for human rights and gender equality,\u201d said Chuard. She\u2019s been with the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs since 2005 and, as a Swiss Diplomat, served as Deputy Head of the Human Rights Section in Berne and Political Coordinator at the Mission of Switzerland to the UN in New York. She also led the Middle East and Northern Africa Division (Humanitarian Aid) of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
