Seven-year-old Arman has been going to school for a year and is doing well in class. This is not to be taken for granted, as many children in India who grow up in difficult conditions are denied access to quality education.
Arman’s parents are convinced that his good performance is due to his early support. He visited one of the 50 early childhood development centers set up by the Swiss Academy for Development (SA4D) and its partner organization Centre for Rural Education and Development (CREDA) as part of the “Move & Improve” project in India. There, children are supported in their holistic development through sport and play.

This article tells Arman’s story and provides comprehensive insights into the “Move & Improve” project. The article was written for Childhood Education Innovations Magazine (May/June 2023 issue).
