The fifth AUBE invites you to the international film program Autre Regard marked by visual courage and civic engagement with further diverse events. The program includes film screenings in the presence of directors as well as a charity concert by rappers from Basel for imprisoned rappers in Iran. The PRIX DE L´AUBE pour le Cinéma Poétiqueist will be awarded on 3 September at 8pm in the Stadtkino Basel with a speech by Anna Leissing (KOFF) & Maryvonne Raymond (Alliance Française Basel).

At this year's Ilanzer Sommer, KOFF is again co-organizing the film series "Stad da Pasch". Four fascinating films addressing conflict and peacebuilding issues will be screened and discussed with protagonists, activists and peacebuilders afterwards: Utama (2022), This Kind of Hope (2023), Polish Prayers (2022), La Mif (2021).

Join us for an Iran Solidarity Night. We will screen the film “Profession: Documentarist”, and talk with guest about the current situation.

KoBra is showing the Brazilian documentary film "América Armada" by Alice Lanari and Pedro Asbeg in cooperation with terre des hommes Switzerland. The documentary follows three activists who campaign against armed violence in Brazil, Colombia and Mexico. The filmscreening will be followed by a discussion with the filmmakers and an activist from Salvador on the background of armed violence and the problems of arms exports to Latin America.

The film allows people on two continents to have their say about the effects of Swiss corporations on their well-being. Dick Marty and other voices from Switzerland and abroad explain why they are calling for clear rules to ensure that corporations are held accountable for their misconduct.

The film portrays three young women from Norway, Kenya and Canada who are committed to environmental and climate protection in their home countries. The three women show how protest, education and local networks can be used to fight environmental degradation, consequences of climate change or the abandonment of oil production.

The documentary is a feature film that deals with the life of Vera Jarach, a mother of Plaza de Mayo Línea Fundadora who had to go into exile to Argentina in 1939. Her grandfather was killed in Auschwitz. In Argentina she starts a family and gives birth to her daughter Franca, who was kidnapped and killed during the military dictatorship. A story told about the subjugation of identity and the absolute violation of the most fundamental rights.

Together with terre des hommes schweiz KOFF is screening "The Interrupters", a documentary on three former gang members working to break the cycle of violence in their neighbourhood in Chicago. The film will be followed by a discussion on gang violence in Latin America with Andrea Zellhuber from terre des hommes Schweiz.
