6th peace conference: 175 years of peace in Switzerland – visions for an active peace nation Switzerland

The political peace in Switzerland is as old as the constitution (1848). Yet, where does the peaceful nation Switzerland stand today? What new ways should be taken in order for us to feel safe in our everyday lives? The Forum für Friedenskultur invites you to the 6th Peace Conference on 09 August 2023 in Ilanz and und offers an open space to discuss these questions. The working group “Sicherheit neu denken” will provide impulses for discussion. Since 2023, it has engaged with the question of how a Swiss peace and security policy based on the UN-Charta can be promoted. The insights gained from the peace conference will be further discussed in the event «3x3x3 – Raum für Dialog: Sicherheit neu denken» during the «Ilanzer Sommer

International forum: Interreligious and intercultural peacebuilding

17 August 2023, 2-5 pm, 18 August 2023, 2-4 pm MESZ

Multiple of Mission 21’s partner churches and organizations live in regions of crisis and conflict. Thus, interreligious and transcultural peacebuilding is a main topic of cooperation. In the forum, we will discuss through lectures and talks how peace initiatives from different contexts can support each other.
Septemmy Lakawa, president of the theological faculty in Jakarta (Indonesia), will hold the keynote lecture. She is a professor of trauma and feminist theology. Other inputs will be given by experts from Nigeria and Bolivia. The participants will be able to exchange with experts from partner churches and organizations during workshops.

Eirenne Suisse’s 60th-anniversary celebration

This year, Eirene Suisse celebrates 60 years of commitment to peace worldwide through international cooperation and people-to-people exchanges. All donors, members, supporters, and people interested in learning more about Eirenne’s activities are invited. Many surprises await you on this day. The basic participation fee is CHF 50.00 (CHF 25.00 for children), and the support fee is CHF 100.00, including aperitif, a meal with a starter/main course/dessert, and first drinks.
