This event organized with the support of the Dutch and Canadian embassies in Switzerland will bring together civil society representatives, experts, practitioners, and policymakers who are concerned with Women, Peace, and Security (WPS), Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (P/CVE). It aims to foster knowledge exchange and raise awareness around the importance of governmental and non-governmental organizations integrating misogyny and violent extremism considerations into their policies.

Civil Society Consultations for the Swiss NAP 1325

We are currently in the joint process of coordinating a participatory consultation process among Swiss civil society and academic experts to channel civil society priorities for the next National Action Plan (NAP) for the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda into the drafting of the 5th Swiss NAP 1325, as well as an exchange with the Swiss administration. To this end, two hearings will be organized in Bern (on 19th September and 16th November 2023).

The September edition of the à propos magazine relates to the alarming gender backlash that has emerged over the past years, targeting women, feminist peace movements, and LGBTQI+ people. It delves into the various forms this phenomenon takes, including the silencing and repression of organizations advocating for gender equality, heightened rates of sexual and gender-based violence, constraints on reproductive health, and the amplification of anti-gender hate speech. International Forum on Interfaith and Transcultural Peacebuilding

Many of Mission 21's partner churches and organizations live in crisis and conflict regions. Therefore, interreligious and transcultural peacebuilding is a main topic of cooperation. On 17-18 August 2023, Mission 21 will organize an online forum which will feature presentations and discussions on how peace initiatives from different contexts can support each other.
