In Nicaragua, numerous underage women become pregnant after they were raped or because the education about contraception is insufficient; many of them do not dare to talk about this issue. In a few cases, these women and girls do not receive support from their families and are even forced to move out of their family home. Psycho-social support to process these experiences are often lacking. With a crowdfunding activity, SOS-Kinderdorf is collecting donations to support ten underage mothers from Matagalpa with parenting, legal advice, and vocational integration. This way, the young women are not left on their own, but thoughtfully accompanied to enter a self-determined life.
