HEKS Land Forum 2023

On 2/9/16 November, 13-15h CET, HEKS/EPER will hold its Land Forum 2023, focusing on the land-based carbon market. This year’s forum will take place online in English, French and Spanish (with simultaneous translation). The three session will focus on the following: Understanding the System: The Land-Based Carbon Market and its Impacts on the Ground, Improving the System: Avoiding Land and Human Rights Violations, Strengthening Climate Resilience, and Changing the System: Alternatives towards Climate Justice beyond Carbon Colonialism.

terre des hommes schweiz participates in Culturescapes 2023 Sahara

This year's edition of the cross-disciplinary art festival Culturescapes is dedicated to the theme of Sahara. With several film evenings, discussion rounds and a city tour terre des hommes switzerland puts the Western Sahara in the spotlight. Western Sahara is a program country of tdh switzerland. Western Sahara is located south of Morocco. It was occupied by Morocco by force about 45 years ago and since then it is considered as the last unresolved colonial conflict in Africa. Authoritarianism is on the rise globally and civic space is shrinking. Civil society organizations and social movements are under attack in many countries. Their ability to act as a counterweight is being curtailed through political intimidation and prosecution, and funding is becoming increasingly scarce. It is urgent to rethink bilateral partnerships and funding mechanisms enabling organizations to further civic rights. The symposium offers the chance to discuss and exchange with experts and activists.

The fifth AUBE invites you to the international film program Autre Regard marked by visual courage and civic engagement with further diverse events. The program includes film screenings in the presence of directors as well as a charity concert by rappers from Basel for imprisoned rappers in Iran. The PRIX DE L´AUBE pour le Cinéma Poétiqueist will be awarded on 3 September at 8pm in the Stadtkino Basel with a speech by Anna Leissing (KOFF) & Maryvonne Raymond (Alliance Française Basel).

GSoA General Assembly 2023

In 1982, GSoA was founded by 120 army-critical activists in Restaurant Kreuz in Solothurn. Now, after 11 federal popular initiatives and 4 referenda, GSoA celebrates its 40-year-long existence as the biggest anti-military initiative in Switzerland. At this year's general assembly, GSoA will adopt an anti-military manifest and will address the war in Ukraine, the Nuclear Prohibition Treaty and upcoming projects.

Online Camp: Wikipedia for Peace - No More War

Militarization is on the rise and creates the base for current and future wars. But there is resistance by anti-war activists and movements around the world. A lot of content about these activists is still lacking on Wikipedia, the biggest encyclopedia in the world. With this online camp, SCI Switzerland wants to make these movements more visible on Wikipedia by engaging volunteers in editing and translating Wikipedia articles.
