Then this might just be what you are looking for: applications are now open for three programme assistant positions at QUNO in Geneva from September 2021 to August 2022 in Human Rights & Refugees (HRR); Peace & Disarmament (PD); and Climate Change & Sustainability (CCS). These are exciting opportunities for young professionals with an interest in international affairs to learn about and contribute to Quaker work at the United Nations.

We are pleased to announce the opening of applications for the 2021 online edition of the Interpeace professional development course. This course is for mid and senior level professionals from the humanitarian, development, stabilization, peacebuilding and human rights sectors. The objective of the course is to consciously and creatively increase participants’ advisory capacities, so as to enhance their effectiveness in supporting locally led efforts fostering sustainable peace. The annual meeting of the Swiss peace organizations was established in 2018. Each year a different organization is in charge of the events' organization. This year, this responsibility lies with the association "Women for Peace Switzerland", which is supported by WILPF Switzerland, the Swiss Peace Council and the Pestalozzi Children's Village Trogen. The topic "Peace building and security - Which ways lead there" urgently demands answers. What can be contributed by politics and schools?

On the 29th April and as part of the FriEnt Peacebuilding Forum 2021, QUNO, Interpeace & the Dag Hammarskjold Foundation DHF will be hosting a round table dialogue to tap into the innovation and creativity of practitioners across the human rights and peacebuilding disciplinary divides to 'shake loose' policy debates that are often stuck and incentivize integrated rather than bifurcated funding strategies. There is much common ground - whether in 'dealing with the past', or from the perspective of YPS or WPS programming & implementation, or in the risks of securitization of peacebuilding - but there are also challenges. Together with its worldwide network of activists, PeaceWomen Across the Globe is launching a series of webinars on feminist peace policy, disarmament and demilitarization.
The first webinar, on 6 March 2021 at 10am, looks at “The responsibilities of European states”. Seven experts will discuss the background, the logic and the consequences of selected European states’ pursuit of a militarized security policy from an intergenerational postcolonial perspective.

State violence to suppress social movements is an international issue.
