KOFF gender experts Yasmine Janah & Dr Anna Antonakis wrote an article on the open debate meeting on Resolution 1325 under Mozambique's Presidency of the UNSC for the SGA-ASPE. The article highlights the importance of the UN Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda as a domestic and foreign policy agenda and concludes that civil society is a necessary condition to support gender-sensitive peace policies, not least in the context of Switzerland’s current seat on the UN Security Council and the forthcoming draft of the Swiss 5th NAP.

cfd is looking for a project manager for the campaign "16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence". The objective of the campaign is to prevent violence and to raise awareness. More than 200 organizations are involved. The campaign is currently being conducted in 16 cantons in German-speaking Switzerland and occasionally in French-speaking Switzerland. 24 February marks one year since the outbreak of war in Ukraine. In neighbouring countries, the focus of aid for refugee families is shifting from emergency support to longer-term integration. Activities of the leading Swiss organisation for children's aid Terre des hommes in Romania show how Ukrainian children can be successfully integrated. However, the situation remains fragile.

Our thoughts are with those affected by the devastating earthquake in Turkey and North Syria. More than 7000 people have died, many more are wounded, lost their loved ones and their houses. Many Swiss organizations including KOFF members are working on sending help to the affected region to support those in need.

The Allianz terre des hommes schweiz / Terre des Hommes Suisse had adopted a climate and environment roadmap to reduce its environmental footprint in all working processes. The organizations argue that protecting climate and environment is essential in order to respect children and the rights of future generations.
